The pictures are great. It's kind of cool (and wierd) to see someone you know in places that you normally only see in National Geographic programs :)
Hope everything is going well. Keep the photos coming. It's really cool to be able to see what you're up to. :)
Good news on the video front by the way. Seems that Rachel still has it but it was damaged flying back to NZ. She's been very proactive in repairing it ... not! :) Luckily it's only the flap on the front and not the tape itself so we should be able to repair it easily once I can get my hands on it :) I'm looking forward to seeing us a year and a bit back :)
Hi and Welcome to my blog. For those of you who don't know, I have decided to go to Nigeria for at least a year with VSO ( Voluntary Service Overseas) to a place called Jos, in Central Nigeria. It's in the Plateau State, which is fortunately quite high up ( around 1200 metres above sea level) so the region has apparently got the best climate in Nigeria.
I am a speech and language therapist, and my placement is to work in a school for children with a range of Special Needs ( both physical and learning disabilities) and to train the teachers in Speech and Language Therapy techniques. Well, that is the aim anyway!
I am writing a blog of my day to day experiences so you can all keep track of what's going on in my life, and also for information for other people thinking of coming out here to do something similar. I found it really useful reading other people's blogs before I made the decision to come here!
