Hi Julia, I'm sure you don't remember me...but I'm a friend of your sister Kate's....Aussie girl Amy who had a party in Chiswick a few years ago that you came to with Kate. I'm now back in Sydney doing a masters in speech pathology and Kate has directed me to your blog. It's very interesting and sounds like you are having a great time!! Do you mind if I share the link with my fellow students, as I'm sure some would be very interested? Cheers, Amy
Hi and Welcome to my blog. For those of you who don't know, I have decided to go to Nigeria for at least a year with VSO ( Voluntary Service Overseas) to a place called Jos, in Central Nigeria. It's in the Plateau State, which is fortunately quite high up ( around 1200 metres above sea level) so the region has apparently got the best climate in Nigeria.
I am a speech and language therapist, and my placement is to work in a school for children with a range of Special Needs ( both physical and learning disabilities) and to train the teachers in Speech and Language Therapy techniques. Well, that is the aim anyway!
I am writing a blog of my day to day experiences so you can all keep track of what's going on in my life, and also for information for other people thinking of coming out here to do something similar. I found it really useful reading other people's blogs before I made the decision to come here!
